The carpet is just fantastic. First, because of its size, cats actually have to step on it instead of just jumping over it. So he has the ability to catch garbage and avoid being hunted. I have 2 liter boxes across from each other on opposite sides of the mat, and I have 2 cats (who kind of somehow find a way to sniff out trash everywhere). This rug essentially puts an end to that. They have to jump onto the mat when exiting the tray, and the mat snatches almost any debris from their tiny paws. It also catches any debris as it digs and prevents it from rolling/spreading away from the debris area. There were very few traces of the mat. The mat is easy to rinse and clean (it's not too heavy and bulky). Because of its design, it doesn't need to be dried again (I keep porch trays on tile). So color, size, style, weight, functionality, etc. are all great. I am very happy with this rug and will most likely buy another one. I would like to point out (since I saw this reference in another review before I bought the mat and it helped me) that the mat is not waterproof. It will take time for the liquid to come out (like a litter box slip), but it will eventually happen. So if you plan on putting it on a carpet or other delicate surface, be aware. I recently stumbled upon Easyology on Revain while doing some searching. I took a risk and ordered this rug as well as some other products. Overall I have found all of the Easyology products that I have tried to be fantastic.
