I ordered these a size 7/8 for my child, they were too big so I ordered a size down and I like them but I will still keep the larger size so they fit can take a pair once she grows up in them because I love that they have elastic at the waist I don't have to worry about my child having trouble unbuttoning his pants. I would say the thickness is just right, not too thick then my kid won't sweat too much or anything.
