I hesitated to buy this ruler set because I wasn't sure if I could really use all the edges based on some reviews. So when I was looking for a good single deckle edge ruler I found that they were either too long or too expensive for my use. Finally I decided to just go ahead and buy this three line ser even if I could only use one. Priced for a set of three, it was better than the price of a ruler, it's clear so you can see exactly where your score line will be, and it's a handy size - not too long for working on a desk or craft table. . In addition, professional hairdressers that I have followed on YouTube successfully use this line. My set arrived in perfect condition. I immediately tested each edge on 20# paper (regular copy weight) and it came out great. Each edge was visibly torn in the shape of the edge of the ruler. Then I experimented with regular scrapbooking paper - not the heaviest, but significantly heavier than the weight of the copy. No problem! Haven't used these tear-off rulers with thick cardstock yet, so I don't know how it will turn out. This is where the included water pen can come in handy. So far I haven't felt the need to rip long, straight lines out of thick card stock. Note that they tear the paper. The edges will look torn, what's the point right? If you want clean, sharp edges, you'll need a different tool, e.g. B. a special edge trimming scissors or a paper cutter with special cutting tools. Tips for success: 1. Be sure to hold the ruler firmly so that the paper does not slip when you tear it.2. Tear towards you and tilt the paper slightly towards the ruler. 3. With thick cardboard, try moistening the edge to be torn off with a little water first. (A water pen is included for that purpose) So, I'm so glad I finally got this set of tear rulers! The price is right and the different facets are fun!
