Reliable, durable wall mount

Most TVs in our home are wall mounted. In fact, there's only one that wasn't attached to the wall - the one in our bedroom. This is a 65 inch flat screen TV that has moved from our living room to my office and is now in our master bedroom. Until recently, the TV just sat on an old dresser. After moving our bed to another wall, we decided to hang the TV on the wall. This long arm TV wall mount was a good solution to this problem. As this isn't the first TV I've installed in our home, I can say that the installation process was pretty standard. The backplate attaches to the wall either by driving screws into studs in the walls or using the included drywall anchors. I could find studs in our wall so I just used this method. The kit includes a paper guide to help you drill. One of the things I didn't like was that the entire bracket was essentially one piece. When I've wall mounted other TVs with swivel brackets like this one, the bracket usually detaches in the middle, allowing you to easily attach the back plate to the wall without assistance. Since this mount didn't, I had to awkwardly position the extended mount on my shoulder while tightening the screws in the wall. It worked, but it wasn't the easiest process. Another issue I had was that the main part of the bracket that held the TV was not level. I checked the mounting plate on the wall several times, it was there, but there was no extension cord for the TV to hang from - and there was no way to fix it. I ended up having to adjust the way the TV was mounted, which I didn't like. In terms of performance, the mount holds the TV well. It feels secure and moving off the wall is smooth and fluid. We really enjoyed having the TV on the wall after rearranging the furniture in our room. One of the best things about it is that we were able to mount our streaming devices on the back of the TV, which also helped get rid of a lot of cables.
