Seems to be accurate, used on a camper trailer

I stopped hiking this year but tested it on my truck. I put two of these on two front wheels and rode around for a couple of hours. I compared the pressure readings with the wheel mounted TPMS units. They were pretty close, within 1/2 psi. When I removed the sensors from the valve stem, the monitor unit beeped to warn of low pressure, which is good. I like that the sensors have a thin nut that tightens against them and holds them firmly to the valve stem. I like that the monitor is battery powered, meaning you aren't tethered to a cable and charges from sunlight or USB. The setup is a little cumbersome, but you only have to do it once. You will need to change the max/min pressure for each sensor wheel as the factory settings will warn if the pressure is below 100psi or above 175psi. I've never heard of any car or trailer tires that can handle 100-175 psi. The monitor also shows the temperature one wheel at a time, although I'm not sure how accurate that is. It was meant to be a measure of the temperature of the air around the wheel, so I wouldn't rely on accuracy, but it can indicate if one wheel's temperature was relatively higher than all the others. I think it will be a good system for towing. our camper. I'm always concerned about leaking or hot tires and this is a good way to keep trailer tires in check. You can save yourself from a catastrophic tire failure.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Pretty ok
