I have three turtles that need to be kept in different ponds. It's almost impossible to find heaters that don't have edible parts (those lumps are anything that isn't nailed down). I had previously tried several types/brands of immersion heaters before coming across this one and they have all broken (leaving dangerous shards of glass in the tank to eat), bitten off rubber tips and choked, or the heaters failed after just a few months died useful. The temperatures weren't right either. Having to buy all three meant those other heaters were just throwing a lot of money down the drain. The extra money spent on these heaters was well worth it for the design and quality.1. The temperature even in my 110 gallon ponds is perfect!2. There are no loose or glass/rubber parts in the design that can be broken/eaten. Yes I know most people use these fish warmers. But for those of us with turtles it's perfect! Flat, sleek design is the best! In my turtle ponds, the aquarium material prevents the suction cups from sticking to the walls or bottom of the pond. But they lie nicely and evenly on the aquarium floor, and the turtles don't pull them out to the middle of the pond and don't get tangled in the lines. But I'm sure they will stick to glass aquariums very well.5. They still work and work well!
