Works pretty well. on lathe parts and accessories

I bought this system instead of Wolverine etc because it seemed to include ALL the materials. Other systems appear to have many extra parts, some of which were necessary in addition to sharpening the basic lathe tools. Of course addons are good for things like a mount for a special knife, an ax or something similar. But an expensive turning tool system would be expected to handle ALL turning tools within reasonable limits. This system has 3 main uses. First, use a small tool stand, with or without a sliding tool holder, to make it easier to slide the tool around. It has 2 reversible bits to help you get the right angle for different cuts etc. This is really the main use for chisels, bends and curved cuts with a standard grind where you simply rotate the tool as it sharpens it to profile it properly. the handle of your long tool is stable Be aware that this can be a problem when using a CBN wheel as the wheel can 'grab' the tool and turn it upside down. these are mostly profiles where simply flipping the tool over will not work as it is oval rather than round. My main complaint is the instructions. They do NOT appear on YouTube which seems like a ridiculous oversight. I don't really want to watch them on my computer so I copied the DVD to put on a flash drive. It turns out they are PROTECTED FROM COPY DVD with instructions. Seriously guys? Well done. You don't want intruders to steal your tool instructions. So it was annoying and just unnecessary. Overall I'm very happy with it. It is assembled very nicely, comes with all necessary hardware. Also has two bases so you can easily switch from one wheel to the other. You might want to buy some magnets to hold some of the components (although some parts are ALUMINUM, like the tool pusher so they don't scratch your tools). Also, it's a good idea to drill some holes to store the reversible corner setters.
