I know it looks like a toy but I bought it for myself. We just got a plot and I wanted to know what kind of moth/butterfly these caterpillars would grow into. So I found this bug catcher online and it worked great! The caterpillar I found has formed a beautiful cocoon there and we are waiting for it to come out. We also have oak galls and next spring I plan to find the fallen greenery and place it there. When the children arrive I will plant any locusts or other creatures they find and then we will release them into the pond. I've had more fun with it! It's well built. The only thing I would suggest is that if you're looking for a very scientific container, this one has a door that just slides right or left and doesn't seal, so ants and the like can easily escape - they can get in too. even if you're not careful where you put it.
