My Wine Enthusiast 24 bottle wine cooler has died. I've been researching on You Tube and the web and came across the Peltier Thermoelectric Cooler. The top and bottom TEC1-12705FX thermoelectric Peltier coolers have been removed and replaced and it works better than new. Now the temperature is maintained at 56 in the upper zone and 45 in the lower zone. Be sure to apply thermoelectric paste to both heatsinks before installation. I used a 4g tube which I had to apply sparingly on the final finish because I was nearing completion. Just a note - there is a TEC1-12705 without FX. From my research I found that the 12705 was a 50w cooler while the 12705FX was a 60w cooler. I've read reports of people replacing 12705FX with 12705 and their wine cooler not cooling properly. I would definitely replace like with like in such situations.
