Slips on paint easy to remove

At first you could literally watch it slip after installation. The problem was due to the type of plastic used on the ends for the "handle" and the fact that this plastic felt a bit slippery. The rod didn't just slip off - if it shrank first, then it fell. Once installed, the rubber tips of the poles offered so little resistance to the paint that the ends were simply twisted in place until the pole was compressed enough to fall off. The solution was simple - put something between the plastic tip of the wand and the paint that won't slide on the plastic or the paint. I used a catalog card and cut out 2 squares large enough to cover the plastic ends. Put a piece of paper between the wall and the plastic, attach the first end and do the same with the other end. It can be difficult to squeeze and slide a piece of paper between the plastic wand tip and the wall. However, the paper does the job, providing a hold on paint that a plastic tip alone cannot. Other reviews recommend scraping the paint a bit to give it a better grip and lengthening it more than the 0.5 inch recommended in the instructions. I expanded it as far as I could and still fit it in the window frame. Note. I use a 54-90" rod for a 60" wide window and it holds without a center bracket.
