I purchased this along with a 1/4" er11a collet for use in a 3018 bench press. Learn from my ignorance: I dropped it to a very shallow depth on my chipped board by pushing with my hand.but it crashed and jammed my spindle and the spindle driver circuit overloaded and burned out.The support group I'm in explained that you *should* release it sideways, either from the Outside of the workpiece or from above, in a combined side and down motion A few other people in the group have used this tool, some successfully, but the generally accepted advice was that it's too big for the 3018 and you Better to use a standard end mill and just end up spending more time leveling your board.. you don't do that often.. but it's not the tool's fault, it's the fault the low-torque spindles and 1/8" shanks used on these tabletop machines. If your machine already uses 1/4" shanks, this size is probably right for you.
