The metal handle looks solid, the description says the blade is carbon steel. It could be more convenient. Blades commonly referred to as "carbon steel" are NOT stainless steel. Carbon is still present in all steels, but this is a stainless steel blade. It's much softer than the cheaper Khun knives and dulls the blade much more quickly than a stainless steel blade.
