Considering the price and performance of this product I wish I would like it but the truth is I spent more time shelling the base egg than when I just cut the egg with a knife. The base has a deep square area that grips the egg as it is squeezed by the slicer. It is almost impossible to remove an egg from this area. In the end I decided to pick it out with a master key. The cutting part of the device also crushes and deforms the egg, "slicing" it. This product is a mistake.
