seems well made. The lining is fabric, the bottom has a hard surface. Without smell. It will contain a wallet, phone and other items. I use it for vacations so it had to be able to hold essentials without being heavy. I wish the handles were a few inches longer so I could hang off my shoulder, but that's what the picture shows. In general I'm happy.
