Review on 🚗 Dodge 13-UP Metra XSVI-6523-NAV XSVI Interface for Enhanced Navigation by Charles Russell

Bought for 2017 RAM 1500 without amp. The product listing says 2013 and up which leads me to believe this would work for my system. Well, nothing changed after installation. I double checked everything and still nothing. I called Metra tech support and waited about 45 minutes to speak to someone. As soon as I told the guy what I bought and what cars I have, he interrupted me and said that they already know about this problem. According to the tech, newer RAMs have a different code where their module (the little black electrical box that comes with the wire harness) is unreadable and hence their DOA. I had to bypass the module to make it work with my aftermarket head unit. That being said, $60+ is ridiculous for a now basic wiring harness. I suspect that most of the cost comes from the module being useless. I didn't contact the seller because I already installed it in my car. I hope they update the description so people with the same app as mine know they are paying for an overpriced set of cables.
