I did my research before investing in any camera so I knew before I bought the GE X500 that its optical zoom (15x) will outperform any other camera in price even others, of which there were more. I got the black camera for no particular reason and fell in love with it immediately. It took some time to experiment with this, but I got used to it quickly and got some great photos. It's perfect for beginners (myself included), although I might end up selling my GE X500 to upgrade to something much better and more expensive. No, it's not for professionals, but it's perfect for those who are experimenting with photography and love it as a hobby. It's very useful! PROS: - Excellent image quality and many different options to choose from. - Easy navigation. - Easy to use and ideal for those who want a great camera at a low price. - High quality. It's not one of those cheap cameras that breaks after the first use - it lasts. I've knocked a few times and everything is fine. And the lens reacts when the hand (or an object) is in the way when zooming or switching on. It won't fall apart. - Professional. I think this camera is perfect for the professional beginner photographer as it really gives you the real, basic feeling of photography with a realistic camera that you will use in professional photo shoots etc. - Shape. Its shape is similar to many professional cameras and I like it. It's much easier to hold! CONS: - It bothers me sometimes because it seems a little slow when you turn it on and a little slow after you take a picture. IS this a serious problem? no Not at all. In fact, it rarely upsets me. It won't take long, I just don't have the patience. so I can't wait more than a few milliseconds! - Not the best choice for indoor shots. I mainly use it for outdoor photography, but when I try to shoot indoors the lighting needs to be good. But he has a flash, so I guess I have nothing to complain about. But flash doesn't help when you're trying to photograph animals! - I think I could complain that the manual is on a CD or something. but you don't really need it. CONCLUSION: Standing camera. Buy it because I promise you won't find anything else like it for the same price! RECOMMENDATIONS: When I bought this I also bought a 10GB Transcend SDHD card which works great with the camera. It's relatively cheap, so feel free to do the same. It also doesn't come with a camera case, which isn't a big deal to me, but maybe to you.
