As others have pointed out they come very well padded with each mold fitting into its own hole in the foam board and covered with another layer. The box is a great place to keep them. I bought these to make crème brûlée as the recipe I wanted to follow called for 6 ounce molds. Others asked for 8. I hesitated on what size to get and meant a smaller oval bowl but ended up with these. You are good in every way. No flaws, handles heat well, even if the top edges are burned with a torch, while the bottom cools to around 40 degrees after chilling. Easy to clean. There are no complaints. However, I now wish I had found smaller oval crème brûlée shapes as I am not used to this thick pudding. The shallower oval type gives you more room to caramelize the sugar on top and the custard isn't as deep. This way you get the right combination of sugar crust and delicious custard in every bite. But they're perfect for baking anything that size calls for it.
