Firstly, this item ships to Canada at the same price with reasonable shipping cost. Mine arrived very quickly via DHL and I have to say I am very impressed with the DHL service. I was able to prepay the brokerage fees (which were reasonable, just under $20 for brokerage fees, taxes, and fees) and tell me where to leave it when no one was home. As I said, it comes from China, not from the USA. It only took about 3 business days. Replacing a lightbulb is fairly easy, if a little tedious. There are about 15-20 screws to go through. Do not touch the bulb with your hands. It is recommended to wear latex gloves throughout the procedure. Also, I read from another person that a small window in the lamp unit shattered when his lamp exploded - you should check if it is damaged before purchasing a lamp or a new lamp unit. The lamp itself seems to be of good quality as others have said. My projector now feels like new as the image brightness has returned to previous levels. I just installed it so I'll report back if there are any problems. 5 stars because the price is fantastic compared to spending around $200 elsewhere and the quality seems on par with buying from Optoma itself.
