Overall I am very happy with my purchase. I'm only knocking on it because the bits weren't secured and one of them was slightly damaged in transit. It was the bit I needed so I just took it instead of sending it back. The damage was really superficial. chipped paint This does not affect the balance and the blades are not damaged. The drill itself cuts well. Do this slowly, making sure the cut isn't too deep. I've only managed about 50 feet so far, but I'm happy with the overall results. I don't know if more expensive bits would give better results, but I doubt it. All the problems I encountered were caused by the operator, not the bits. *Update* June 2016 Towards the end I felt like there were more issues, but that could be due to the wood used (white pine) or operator error. I've never noticed any chipping, but sometimes there was a slight knock. I'm willing to take it to the level of my experience.
