No matter if you enjoy the sound produced by these speakers or not, the fact remains that they DO MAKE SOUND! Contrary to what several people have stated in this thread, this is not firewood. I do not have a spoilt sense of hearing. Yes, I did not spend much time listening to "audiophile" speakers, so I am unable to make a comparison; however, I did spend time listening to S-30 Radio Engineering, vintage Vega and other brands of a similar ilk, computer active acoustics, as well as professional concert acoustics, stage monitors, and other types of audio equipment. The sound quality of Yamaha speakers is much elevated when compared to "Soviet" and computer speakers. Hearing Yama with genuine AC15-404 headphones from the 1980s was an experience that brought tears to my eyes. There is no question in my mind that more expensive acoustics are capable of producing a sound that is superior to that of this Yamaha, but the difference (for the purposes I will be using it) will be so insignificant that I will not pay attention to it. The bass produced by these speakers was satisfying to my ears. They are "soft," not like a subwoofer in a car or a sausage at a disco, but at the same time they are quite "weighty," penetrating to the depths of the body. They are not like a subwoofer in a car or a sausage at a disco. At first, I was planning on purchasing a subwoofer as soon as possible; but, I've changed my mind and now plan to take my time and focus on the acoustics in this room. I listened to hires tracks from a mobile phone (via bluetooth 5.0 and through a line output) on a digital Chinese amplifier Nobsound 100 watts on TPA 3116. It is important to note that I do not yet have famous receivers or amplifiers. Copper is used for the wires, with a SHVVP 0.75 mm on bananas. And even though they were such a "household" bunch, I thought the sound was great. There is not even the slightest trace of any noises, hisses, crackles, or distortions (with a good power supply, of course). If I decide to purchase a receiver, it will be solely for the purpose of consolidating multiple audio sources into a single unit, not because I want to get a "unique" sound. If there is one silver lining to this story, it is that the bear did not step on my ear since I had a musical education and a connection to music. For individuals who only need high-quality sound "for every day" in music, in movies, or in non-professional creative endeavors, this is a very strong and reasonable solution. I am unable to think of a less expensive alternative that will produce such a satisfying outcome. If you are an audiophile, you should avoid these speakers, spend your money elsewhere, and save your show-off moments for another occasion:). You going to checkers or going?
