I really think this is the best solution I could find without having to plug it into a 12V socket. It's also small enough to easily fit in your car be able. I have mine in the center tunnel between two cup holders, it just sits there like it always does :) Sound quality is good as long as you find a free frequency and use it. For me, static noise really depended on where I was driving. I've used it a few times to talk while driving and I can say it works well. You just have to speak louder if you place this device a little far from you. turns my phone off when I plug the transmitter into the 12v port to charge, so you have to reconnect.
