Review on Sierra 57901P Voltmeter Amega 8 18 by Nick Santos

Works great with the electrics

My boat has an unregulated engine power (81 Johnson 50 hp). So I'm not only worried about the battery draining, I'm also worried about charging it. Since my fish finder has a digital voltage readout, this sensor is really just a backup in case my fish finder fails. I chose it because all my other gauges are also the same style as the Sierra and I love the look of these gauges and they work great too. Never had any fogging or water ingress issues. I would like this sensor to have a larger span so I can read the exact voltage more easily. At the same time, this pressure gauge has horizontal lines on both sides, which indicate abnormal situation when the arrow is on it, overvoltage on the right or undervoltage on the left. This is actually surprisingly hard to find in voltmeters, especially in surge lines. Some have a red line that indicates low voltage. However, with these sensors, there is nothing to suggest that more than 14.5 volts is bad. I like this feature because it makes it easy for me to tell someone using my boat what to look for instead of memorizing specific numbers.
