I bought these to replace my 800LX rig (they died and Plantronics no longer own the brand. New owners provide poor customer service). I wanted something with a party blender, decent battery life and under 300 grams. This is one of the few that ticks all the boxes. Benefits1. Connects easily to Xbox Series X and Windows 10 PC. Plug and play, no apps required, it just works.2. I know some people have had issues with the mixer buttons being scary, but my device was fine. Both buttons are clickable and easy to use.3. I like the microphone backlight. It's easy to see in your peripheral vision, letting you know you're muted. 4. Clinical sound quality with slightly accentuated bass. It's a bit annoying when playing with a bass-heavy headset, but you get used to it. Sounds good.5. Excellent battery life. 30 hours is not a lie.6. Comfortable enough. I think the headband padding could be thicker, and I bought some velor pads from the HyperX official website, but I can wear them for a while with no problem.7. Good range. I can go through every inch of my house without cutting it out. 8. Microphone monitoring is good. Be careful, your voice will sound better than others when you monitor the microphone.9. Key feels like it's well built. Not a super cheap feeling.10. You can disconnect the microphone. Convenient if you only need a headset for listening and not for speaking. Neutral1. The quality of the microphone is just normal. It's clean and no hiss (according to my disagreement and Xbox friends). However, it removes the bass from your voice and adds a compressed element to it. It's clear and very functional, but it's not great.2. The green lights are very smooth, but they drain battery power. I leave them out. Disadvantages1. There is no way to check the battery level. Not the biggest concern as the battery life is very good but you have to plug it in and be active with it.2. There is no balance. No microphone volume monitoring. If you don't like the sound quality out of the box, there's nothing you can do about it. If you have Dolby for Windows or Xbox ($14.99 and it works on both platforms) you can use it for the equalizer if you need it.3. Unlike the Cloud Flight S (PC/PS4 version), there is no Bluetooth or headphone jack. This makes me very sad because I would like to use them on my phone. HyperX appears to update other Cloud Flight headsets, but not this one. In general, my impression is positive, but not as positive as the fan speeds. I love these headphones for the reasons outlined above, but I feel like the Cloud Flight S has all the cool extras, and for some reason it's been simplified. It's more expensive than the Flight S and has fewer features. It's a solid Xbox headset, though, and a good-enough PC headset. Bluetooth, like its almost identical sibling, would have made it absolutely amazing.
