After I changed my PC settings, the HDMI cable length in the wall was not long enough to connect to the computer. A simple female to female HDMI cable connector and a second longer HDMI cable resulted in my computer not being recognized by my Samsung TV. However, this HDMI extender gives me - after a bit of fiddling with EDID - a stable connection with a Cat 5E cable (about 15ft) - good results!
