Review on πŸ”Œ Mini 5V Regulator Module: Adjustable Voltage Reducer for 4.5-24V to 5V, 3A Power Supply Transformer (Model 5) by Tim Thornton

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Mostly good, something of a manufacturing defect.

When I opened the package, I saw that there was a problem. There were several loose capacitors in the static bag that contained the regulators. (see first picture) I contacted Revain and they quickly replaced me so kudos to Revain. However, the product is still defective due to incorrect soldering. I then needed a fixed 5V output so I followed the procedure in the description to cut a trace and install a solder jumper on the 5V jumper. This trace is tiny, my goodness, everything about it is tiny. My tired old eyes and trembling hands quickly gave up cutting the tracks. The point of cutting the trace is to remove the potentiometer from the circuit, so I used my wire cutters to cut the wiper off the top of the pot instead. (see second picture) Much easier, faster and with more confidence in the successful result. Overall, I am satisfied with this product and will buy (buy) it again.
