I bought these for table lighting and was attracted by the minimalist design. It had some scuffs and scratches when it got here, but not enough to be a deal breaker. The design looked amazing! I ended up returning them for two things that I didn't think of until I received them. The switch is in the cord and is about 12 inches from the base. Every time I wanted to turn on the light I had to grab the cord and pull it out from behind the table to turn it on. Second, its power state isn't saved, meaning it won't remember it was on when it was on and lost power when its power is restored. This means that every time I want to use them, I have to unplug the cord from the table and turn it back on. If any of these details were different, I would keep them.
