Review on Enhance Your Comfort and Convenience with the New Universal Harbor Breeze 43147 Ceiling Fan & Light Remote Control Kit by Patrice Lippmann

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great receiver, cheap, light weight

Great little receiver, metal body, big remote so it looks better than the original. The cables are color coded the same as my old one and the instructions were clear making it an easy task. Installation was pretty easy. My Harbor Breeze receiver had a wiring harness so I stripped it and then cut the brown antenna wire to get it out of the fan housing. I then disassembled the old receiver to cut and reuse the wiring harness. After connecting the wires from the new receiver to the wire harness, I soldered them together and attached the wire nuts. I then taped the nuts to the wires to keep them from loosening. Then only the receiver has to be placed in the fan housing and the antenna cable connected. Be sure to change the position of the DIP switch before setting it. The old remote will work with the new receiver as long as the DIP switch settings match. So if you prefer to use the old one, you can. Soldering is good but not essential if you don't have the hardware, but it's very important that you tape secure the mounting nuts so they don't come loose and start a fire.

  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • So-so
