I had a mounting surface that was so clean it was sterile lol. I attached it to the bottom front of my 5.3 Chevy Tahoe. I also added sealant around the edges. So far everything works as described. I turn it on for 15-20 minutes on days when the temperature is below 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Valve train "ticking” practically disappears after a few seconds, as opposed to 30-40 seconds before installation. After about 30 seconds, however, it seems normal. Cold start valve lifter "Tick" is back. I think even though the oil was preheated as the oil circulates through the cold cast iron block, it's possible that it recools it to create thicker oil and start ticking again. Or I could just be overly sensitive to soft clicks and noises in my cars.
