DrTims Active Pearls In my opinion an excellent product. I've definitely seen a difference in nitrate levels since putting them in my media reactor. I sat in the 30ppm range before I started using them and now they are undetectable. At first I started slowly, as the instructions say, and then gradually increased the number of pellets in the reactor. The only thing I did differently was that in the first month I still put coal in the second chamber of the reactor. I stopped using charcoal this month; only granules. I've been using them for about 2 1/2 months now and have seen great results. My only complaint about them is that they tend to stick together at times, so you'll need to get them moving around the reactor to keep that from happening to you too. I've also noticed that when they stick together and you loosen them, small parts will float in your pan and DT after you get them moving again. It's not such a big problem for me because eventually they end up in the filter anyway.
