I fell in love with cold brew years ago, and make it in my very inexpensive bodum cold brew maker which is basically a giant French press. With that very low-tech machine, I get a deliciously concentrated rich and delightful cold brew with the full range of nuanced flavors. The coffee is so dark that you can't see through it, and it's wonderful.In the Instant "instant" cold brew machine, I get coffee that was brewed without heat, and I get it within 20 minutes. But even when using the same water to coffee ratio as normal, what I'm not getting is the full range of delightfully subtle flavors, or the rich color that I get from traditional cold brew.The coffee that Instant's Cold Brew Machine brews is to traditional cold brew as espresso is to instant coffee. As in, it will work in a pinch, but I'm not excited to drink it.
