3.5 stars My husband installed this fan in our bedroom. He said the installation is fairly easy, but he's no stranger to installing fans, lighting, etc. It is connected to a switch to turn it on and off and we mounted the remote control on the wall next to the switch. Turning on the switch restores the last setting. The fan is good and has three settings. The light is really weak. Our bedroom is about 12 x 18 and this light does not illuminate the entire room. If I drop something in a corner, I can't find it alone in this light. This is a lighting kit, so we cannot put a brighter bulb in it. Another problem is the lighting setting. To make it as bright as possible, you need to hold down the light button on the remote control. If you hold it for too long it will start to fade again. It would be nice if you could just turn it all the way on and leave it there. If you need a beautiful fan, this is a good option. If you need light for a room, this is not the best option.
