Review on πŸ”‹ Tenergy TN145 AA AAA Battery Charger: 8-Slot Household Charger for NiMH/NiCd Rechargeable Batteries with LED Indicators by Joshua Weaver

Tenerife. Buy batteries, not this charger. Use EBL chargers instead.

I am disappointed with this purchase. It has NO Smartports. There is only one timer. These two things are not the same. It doesn't just charge for a set period of time whether the battery needs it or not (10 hours), I'm not sure it gives consistent results. Buy one with independent charging ports and an indicator light. If you need or want to stay in or around this price range, try the EBL LCD Smart Individual AA AAA Charger for Ni-MH Ni-CD Rechargeable Batteries. Unlike this one from Tenergy, this is a smart charger. It charges each battery individually and you can see how charged or depleted the battery is from the moment of installation to completion. It's also smart in that it maintains a continuous charge and keeps the battery fully charged. And for most of us in the USB age, this 4-port one that lets you charge it only for as long as you need it will work just as well, especially since most devices require 4 batteries or less. Of course, if you're willing to spend more, there's an 8-port version of the EBL, which currently costs around $26. My way of getting there is that I used an 8-slot EBL charger for myself before I bought it. Then I decided to go cheap for myself. And for a week wasting money on this waste of time I bought a 4 port version. So I tried all three. And for the sake of safety, efficiency and economy, I do NOT recommend this TN145 charger. (Big hit with Tenergy batteries. The blue ones fit in every battery box I've tried so far.)

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
