Description of ๐Ÿ”‹ Tenergy TN145 AA AAA Battery Charger: 8-Slot Household Charger for NiMH/NiCd Rechargeable Batteries with LED Indicators

Save time and charge more - The Tenergy TN145 is a NiCD/NiMH AA, AAA charger that can charge up to 8 batteries at a time and is ideal for AA batteries under 2000mAh and AAA batteries under 800mAh. Best utilized in homes that require a lot of batteries. Replace one-time use batteries with rechargeable ones for standard use appliances such as computer peripherals, clocks, controllers, solar lights, audio devices, etc. Individual charging slots - Charge any number of batteries in any of the 8 slots. No longer will you need to charge batteries in pairs of 2/4/6/8 but have individual charging throughout each battery with the smart individual battery charger. Easy-to-use indicators - Simple to use, the red LED indicator lights up on the rechargeable AA battery charger for when it is on and charging. Once it has stopped charging the LED indicator light will turn off and the battery is ready to use. Recharges both AA and AAA - Pair the Tenergy AAA & AA Smart Charger with standard rechargeable batteries as it can charge both types at a time. Based on the AA or AAA type, the TN145 Smart Charger will charge at a safe current of 250mAh (AA) or 100mAh (AAA) that is better at prolonging the battery lifespan. Safety protections - Buy with confidence, your charger includes a 12-month warranty and is backed by CE certification. The Tenergy TN145 household AA battery charger stops charging based on a built-in 10 hour IC timer and includes protections against short circuits and reverse polarity.

To load or not to load - who knows?

This is a good battery for the price but please understand how it works. NOTE: THIS CHARGER WILL CHARGE FOR 10 HOURS WHETHER YOUR BATTERIES ARE CHARGED OR NOT! The charger does not indicate whether your batteries are charged. no charge or "full chargeโ€ reached. Basically you put AA or AAA batteries or a mixed combination of batteries in the charger and plug in the charger. Each battery slot has a glowing red light to indicate that the charger is charging the battery in that slot. Once theโ€ฆ

I am disappointed with this purchase. It has NO Smartports. There is only one timer. These two things are not the same. It doesn't just charge for a set period of time whether the battery needs it or not (10 hours), I'm not sure it gives consistent results. Buy one with independent charging ports and an indicator light. If you need or want to stay in or around this price range, try the EBL LCD Smart Individual AA AAA Charger for Ni-MH Ni-CD Rechargeable Batteries. Unlike this one from Tenergyโ€ฆ

Misleading description

Seems like a great price for a smart 8 port charger. However, this is NOT a smart charger. This charger has a fixed 10 hour timer. In theory, slow charging, like in this case, is better to extend battery life. However, if you overcharge your batteries because you can't tell if they really need to be charged, you could shorten their lifespan and thus negate the benefit of slow charging. This makes the great "value" of this product a real waste of money. I can't tell you which one to choose, butโ€ฆ
