Great product and excellent customer service from the manufacturer when needed. You should always turn off the water manually when you leave your property, even if it's just for a few days. However, this device can prevent thousands of dollars in damage if a leak occurs with the line open. Water causes damage quickly, even a small leak can cause major damage in a short period of time. This device has a great sensor printed on both sides and literally a drop of water is enough to set off the alarm and close the valve. With this we protect the whole house with sensors next to the filter housing and the pressure vessel and it does its job perfectly. Very satisfied. If I were ever to build a new house or renovate it from the ground up (I have no plans to do anything) I would make sure that there was a low voltage wire to every sink, toilet, and fixture (ice maker, dishwasher, etc.) so that I could for this device can accommodate additional sensors under each point where water can leak, which signal the device to turn off the water in the house. What an inexpensive way to protect your home from one of the biggest sources of damage!
