Review on Epson Perfection V19 Color Photo & Document Scanner With Scan-To-Cloud & 4800 Dpi Optical Resolution , Black by Thomas Drew

Good Enough For Me!

After unsuccessful tests of two other scanners, I ended up with this and I am very pleased so far. I did not need an "all-in-one." I just needed a simple stand-alone scanner for documents and historical photos. The very slim, small-footprint Epson V19 installed easily off its accompanying disk and is working just fine after three days. Of course, who knows anymore how long anything is going to last? :(Some notes:1. The glass only supports originals up to 8 1/2" X 11" and there is no document feeder, so don't buy if you plan to scan a lot of legal size originals.2. There is no negative/slide tray included with this unit3. The included software is a little tricky to figure out if you want to do anything more than just scan in "Automatic" mode. No big deal, though. I haven't had a lot of time to play with it so far, but i think I'll get it down with a few more experiments. One cool plus is that the unit is powered off the USB port, so no power adapter is needed. I also love that it's only about as thick as my iPad.Overall, a good choice if you like simplicity and you don't want to spend a lot of money for something that will probably only last a few years anyway.

Pros
  • This scanner can handle different scanning needs, including documents, photos, and receipts. It also has color restoration and dust removal features that help to enhance the quality of old or damaged photos
Cons
  • The device can struggle with scanning large documents, resulting in incomplete scans and errors in the final image
