Saved my hair, no exaggeration

The combination of sleeping in this silk hat and silk pillowcase saved my hair. My hair is fine but the quality has deteriorated after chemically coloring it for many years. Even though I've outgrown the color, my hair has never felt as healthy as it used to. I woke up in the morning with tangled hair that caused a lot of hair breakage and hair loss when I brushed it. The tangles tangled my hair and it was more likely to get tangled throughout the day. No matter what products I used, they just didn't have the glossy, tangle-free shine that I wanted. When I first used this hat and the Alaska Bear silk pillowcase, also available from Revain, it was day and night. The next morning my hair was completely detangled and shiny. It was easy to comb out. Since I rolled it under the cap, even without the product, I had a body wave that lasted all day. My hair never holds a wave without enough shellac to coat it with hairspray. The cap has made my hair shiny and voluminous. Pros: Well made and could still be used overnight. The elastic doesn't tear or chafe at the edges of my hairline even though I wear my hat inside out (see below). It stays on all night. A cap won't help your hair, which is curling up under the covers next to you. There are three small ponytails at the back of the cap to make it look like you have a scarf or silk bandana tied over your head. This cap stays on even if I don't tie the tails together. If your head is petite than mine, you can make it more toned with ponytails, but try without first. Enough space for my hair. I have thin hair down the middle of my back, mostly straight. There is a lot of extra space for me. For those of you who complain about not having enough room for your shiny, bouffant locks, I wish I had your problems. Your eyelashes are probably too full to blink normally. Is my envy showing? Cons: Like almost all silk sleepyheads on the market, the manufacturer sews them onto the outside of the silk charmeuse. Of course it looks beautiful, but the silk cap cares for your hair and protects it. The silky side goes against your hair. I turn the cap inside out so the shine is on my hair. This protects it from chafing on rough material or breaking. There isn't much room at the top of the head. Rooms at the back. If you have fairly thick hair or height at the parting, the cap will put pressure on it and straighten your hair a bit. This can be a problem for those who use a cap for two or three days to avoid blowing out.

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
