My son expected these lights to illuminate his upstairs room where the wall and ceiling meet. This is one of his October birthday gifts and he was looking forward to it. It seemed so easy to just open and hang them up and then enjoy. So as soon as we had free time, we opened the box, which was NOT the original packaging shown in the picture. It was packaged in a plain brown box with little notes about what it was or the specs. I opened the box and it contained two foil packs of bike lights, a thick long black power cord/adapter, a remote control and a small white transmitter with three flexible short cords leading out. I was still a little shocked by the packaging and thought I didn't remember what it looked like when I realized I hadn't found any instructions. I checked again, nothing. Basically, we had to re-read the sales list here for a guide on how this all works. My husband and I spent half a day getting the room ready to hang the strands. Clean and wipe the wall as directed to prolong the life of the tape. In doing so we realized the obvious fact that there is such a thing as gravity when you hang them from above, for example the ceiling, lamps, the top of the walls. And these thin cables are connected not to one, but to two powerful devices. And this cord should hang down the wall and be in full view of the outlet at the bottom of the wall. And it's heavy and more than enough to rip the strips off the wall. You need to take this into account when installing and find some sort of platform to support the weight. With that all settled, we walked around the room, moving the ladder inch by inch. They weren't nearly long enough to complete the room, although we measured twice. While I'm a little annoyed, I was about to order another strand to finish it off. I played around with the settings and got where I wanted and after about an hour they started peeling off the walls and falling off. The next morning, both shelves fell off the wall completely. And there's almost no sticky texture left, and they're lying on the steps of his bunk bed.
