I crochet a lot with fine yarn and am currently working on a project in black. There is not enough light in any room to see the stitches clearly enough. I have table lamps (no use, you either have to hold the work too far in front of you or the light won't close and I prefer to sit in a comfortable chair and work) and headlamps (still not quite right, you have to keep your head keep still so the light is sent where you want it and you risk blinding anyone who speaks to you while you work). This neck lamp is the perfect answer. I love that there are two lights so you can shine from either side and avoid finger/hook shadows. It's bright and bright enough that I can even see black stitching. My middle-aged eyes are very thankful. I recommend this to any handyman who needs extra light without using their hands.
