The monitor was fine for 4 months. It suddenly started showing horizontal lines regardless of whether it was connected to a source or not (the screensaver still shows the lines when turned on without being connected to a computer). It's "out of the return window" so I have to deal with Viewsonic. It's Wednesday morning and they said they "could" get a replacement by Friday AND I have to pay shipping both ways and they want to block my credit card for a replacement monitor if I don't return the broken monitor. Eventually they agreed to send me a shipping label. I won't hold my breath. What a lousy experience. If the monitor fails completely, I'll have to buy it locally. In the meantime I guess I'll just look at the lines. Thanks for the essentials, Viewsonic.
