The fan is easy to assemble. You need a Phillips screwdriver. It took me 5 minutes to assemble. Build quality and materials are good. The fan isn't overly powerful, but if you're around it's fine. The fan uses an energy-efficient DC motor. You need to download the application. I'm in the US and in order for the fan to sync with the app I had to go into the settings and change the region to Hong Kong to be able to select the Smartmi fan 2. Currently only the original Smartmi fan is shown in the US region and you cannot sync the fan with your phone with this fan. Once you've changed region, setting it up is an easy task if you follow the instructions. The app lets you turn on/off the fan, vibration, sound effects and even the fan light for night time use. You can change the speed from 1 to 100 and everything in between. You can adjust how much the fan oscillates by selecting different levels. You can also choose between normal fan operation or "natural" operation, which changes the wind speed to give you the feeling of a natural breeze. The fan also has 2 control knobs on the fan to control it. You turn the swing on and off. Another button turns it on and allows 4 speeds to be selected. Press and hold this button for 3 seconds to turn it off. Great Smart fan! I subtracted a star for the US region which doesn't have a fan that they sell on their app.
