Not sure because of the price increase

I have just returned from a 3 week stay in Greece and have used this camera although it was fairly new to me. I bought it from Revain in June for $169. I mostly shot with aperture priority at ISO 200, but switched to auto after noticing that it washed out the blue sky, although the horizon was often blurred during the day. Most of the twilight and dawn photos turned out very well. A few shots just didn't come off in low light, either washed out by the flash or some weird vignetting. In low light, using the Live View LCD screen was preferable to composing and focusing with the viewfinder. It has an amazing zoom, but if you zoom in to the outer range, beyond 800mm, you'll need a tripod. Another reason for buying it was that it has a viewfinder as well as an LCD screen for live viewing. However, handheld shots with the viewfinder worked flawlessly up to a zoom length of around 800 mm. I admit that part of the problem may be that I didn't spend enough time with him before I went on the trip. However, taking this camera with you was better than lugging around a DSLR with all its accessories. In low light conditions, there can also be a significant time lag between pressing the shutter button and the image being recorded on the memory card. The battery life is excellent. With less than 200 € I find the camera cheap. Now that it's around $300, I'd consider another camera that offers at least a remote shutter release and a threaded lens barrel that you can attach a haze filter to to protect the lens.
