Good for cutting vegetables and even meat. It also has a slightly non-slip surface. The rug was a bit larger than I expected and I didn't need a big one (especially when I'm storing it in a small kitchen drawer). The rug was thin so I was able to cut it into a smaller version with scissors. Also, I had some extra rugs to keep them full size. All in all a good product and a good price.
