I bought it for my sons to learn some skateboard basics. We're not "skaters" by any means. We just cruise around and we only ride cheap so consider that as you read on.The first thing I noticed was I didn't get what I ordered. I ordered the black board with black wheels and got light up wheels instead. The bearings are trash and hardly spin when you flick them by hand. HOWEVER, on the road, my son (and I) got a surprisingly smooth ride - even if it wasn't at top speed. Though the bearings aren't great, I don't feel any pressure to change them right away. The board looks like a Nickel board, but maybe a little less firm. When my 7yo stands on it, I don't see any bowing, but I can feel it bow in and even bounce a little if I step in the middle. The flexibility isn't an issue at all when we ride, but I imagine it could be if you're trying to do tricks.I have a wooden cruiser of similar size and this feels a little lighter and the board is much smoother since there's no grip tape. If I had to pack and carry a board, I'd probably prefer this one. Though there's no grip tape, it has good traction. Not as sticky as grip tape but not slippery at all.Overall, our first day out was actually fun. We went out in the evening and my youngest boys thought the lights were very cool. It's a budget board for sure. But it really is a nice neighborhood cruiser. My kiddo loves it and I had fun cruising around on it myself. For the price, if you're a beginner or just looking for a cheap board to cruise around on, I think it's a good buy.
