I got rid of my cats' old plastic fountain because of how susceptible it was to algae growth - a property of plastic I didn't know about. This fountain here has almost no plastic in it, the stainless steel discourages algae growth and even if it does become unsanitary, it can be safely purged in the dishwasher. My cats seem to love the way that water falls from all the different outlets on the grooved platform, it's a fun design that also makes it so whisker fatigue is not a problem. It's also the quietest fountain I've used so far. My only issue is that I'd prefer if it was a bit taller, so that it could hold more water before needing a refill, but it's no big deal. Highly recommended; it's more sanitary and environmentally friendly than plastic fountains, plus the fun design and low noise makes it great for cats to drink out of. I'm very happy with this!
