Independent overlap of one or both of the two outlets
I used both sizes for the kitchen sink: 3/8 inch outlets + 3/8 inch outlets for the hot water supply of the faucet + dishwasher and a 3/8 "Outlet + outlets 1/4" for supplying cold water to the tap + reverse osmosis. The last 1/4" outlet can also be used to connect directly to the fridge's water/ice dispenser (although in my case the reverse osmosis system powers the fridge). These faucets replaced two tees and four check valves (all four of which eventually leaked), while freeing up space under the sink for other uses.
