The gaps are far from what they should be.

does the product work? Yes. Does the product close the valve? based. The bracket that attaches the valve to the pipe is not suitable for all applications. If there were a second bracket that moved the attachment point farther back it would suit modern pipe fittings much better since you wouldn't be mounting it on end. Also, the lever that moves the shutoff lever needs to be about 2 inches longer to allow for more leverage to close the valve. I see that I will be making some custom brackets to make this work for my application.
