Today is December 25, 2018. It has been 47 days since the fire. I lost everything, including this tent. The first items I bought were 4-season clothing, along with toiletries, socks and underwear. I couldn't go home so I lost everything. With winter approaching and nowhere to call home, I figured it would be best to buy back all of my burned survival gear. This tent was one of those items. Now this is my home. It has only withstood continuous rain for a week and a half. I had minimal condensation on my bedding where my torso is. During the day I just folded up my bed when I got up. By the time I go to bed she's dry again. The trenches around the tent were not dug. Tarpaulins were not used. He was totally exposed to the elements and did his job. Since it was the first sunny day in almost two weeks, I took the time to spread out the rain cover and trail to let them dry. I do this as often as possible to prevent mold from forming on the bottom of the tent. I also took the time to install the canopy using a tarp and a chord of 550. Now I have a porch. :)
