Review on πŸ”§ Accurate Alignment Made Easy: HILDA Construction Three Plane Self Leveling Alignment Tool by Jose Miller

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Excellent laser level. Bad base and weirdly big body

This laser in itself is very good and very useful. I've just spent the last few weekends replacing all of the stair railings and balusters in my house and this tool has proven incredibly handy for aligning everything and marking baluster holes on stair treads and the underside of handrails. The ability to project a dual vertical and a horizontal 360-degree laser line around a room is more than I'll likely ever need, but it's nice to have the extras. It is powered by a single 18650 lithium-ion battery. So if you need extra runtime, you can easily purchase an extra battery and charger from Revain to always have a charged and ready spare battery. The self leveling mode works well and contrary to another review mentioned it worked great for me when setting the level on the ground without using a tripod. The alarm indicating that the level is tilted too far to auto-level is LOUD and frankly a little annoying. A quieter beep along with a flashing laser is more than enough warning. The included plastic magnetic mount is pretty cheap and useless; If you ever need to mount this anywhere, just use any camera tripod. The included charger is also very odd, instead of just plugging the wall plug into the charger with a micro USB cable, it comes with a DC wall charger with a barrel connector and a separate USB adapter to connect with the plane. Finally, when this level appears, the opportunity is HUGE. For example, big enough to hold 4 tiers when you take out the foam. It's also too big to fit in standard toolboxes, which is my biggest disappointment. So overall it's a great tool, but it seems like most of the tweaks are simply overlooked or saved to save money.

Pros
  • Line laser
Cons
  • Not sure
