I really like this case. But first let me say DO NOT buy such a protective case, don't be silly. You buy it for functionality and design. Don't be surprised if it doesn't protect like OtterBox. That being said, I've never loved a case more than this one! I've been an avid OtterBox fan, but the latest designs just don't fit large curved screens. After FOUR returned, I still had gaps in the Defender series. So I decided to try something new and came across this case where Samsung had a 50% discount. I pre-ordered it and fell in love with it immediately! ADVANTAGES: - No scuffs, dents, scratches that you would see after a few drops and rumbling in my purse with keys and many other items. Of course I added a screen protector the first day I received it. NICE! I am constantly asked about this case and where to get it. - You can enjoy the S8's unique colors by purchasing a case that matches your phone. - Easily interact with calls and alarms from the front screen when the lid is closed. You'll spend at least the first hour trying to figure out how it still "works" when closed! lol It's fun to play with. - Get up - hello! This function is indispensable. And it's incredibly subtle, you wouldn't know it was a feature unless you read the description. - The lid STAYS closed, it doesn't hang around like cheaper cases. There's no pesky latch to deal with. It works by gravity, but the back of the front cover is grippy so it sticks to the screen well enough to stay in place. The durable hinge/spine will not crack, wear out or dent after being opened/closed countless times a day. .- The cover knows when it's on your phone, which you need to recognize. dam cool. When I put the phone back in the case, it greets me and suggests suitable topics. Sometimes small things make big things! Don't get this with OtterBox or Spigen! CONS: - BELIEVE ME - put a screen protector on the front of this case. It seems to scratch easily, but that's easily fixed with a tread. The rest of the body is very solid. Not protected from cats. I bought this replacement because my cat ate the corner of the one I bought direct from Samsung. The thick plastic on the lid was sharp with tooth marks and was uncomfortable to hold. It's not really a design flaw, but pet owners deserve attention. People will want to touch it and play with it all the time. You will also be fascinated by how the lid works. There's a learning curve taking pictures with it and it's very difficult to use the fingerprint scanner after Samsung made the unfortunate decision to move it to the back of the phone.
