Warm hooded coat more for style than function

My daughter loves the color and style and thinks it's warm. We live in Michigan so we have cold and snowy days. For context of how this coat might fit others, most parts are too wide for my skinny teenage daughter. This coat is also wide on her. He still keeps her warm. Cons: I think the hood is mostly for beauty. It does not hold very firmly and cannot be tightened.
